Beginning in late 2010, the surgeons of Washington Surgical will be launching an exciting new program. We will begin offering the latest technology in weight loss surgery; the LAP-BAND® procedure. The procedure, known as adjustable gastric banding, is typically performed laparoscopically and involves placing an adjustable band around the upper part of the stomach. The band is adjusted to control the flow of food, and helps reduce the amout of food consumed. Patients, on average, can expect to loose about 62% of their excess body weight by 36 months. Currently we are the only practice offering this exciting prcedure in the Southern Maryland Region.
We invite you attend one of our free patient seminars for more information. For the latest schedule and locations of our informative seminars, visit our calendar of events page.
